The main harbour of Cantharus which is the main harbour, is situated in the NW part of Piraeus peninsula and constitutes the largest natural harbour in the Mediterranean. Its entrance was formed by two arms of land that extended from both sides towards the gulf center, the Eetioneia coast on the northwest and the coast which is extended east of cape Alkimos on the southeast.
