Athens Zappeion Megaron is really a jewell in the center, trully an attraction in Athens. In this cyon yard (peristilio) which is opened to the Athenian sky major events held in the past including EU summits of the Greek presidency. The Zappeion Megaron was erected in 1874 – 1888 and was designed by the architect Theophil Hansen. It has hosted the first modern Olympic Games which took place in Athens in 1896.
